About Me

Hello, I’m Denis — the creator of this space.
For the past twenty years, I have made my home in Cornwall, and more recently I have discovered the magic of Finistère. I feel incredibly fortunate to live between these two remarkable corners of the world. Though I am not Celtic by birth, I feel deeply connected to both places.
When I look around, I see the Atlantic Ocean and the Celtic Sea, the rolling Cornish fields and the rugged Monts d’Arrée. I savour oysters and fresh fish, Cornish pasties and Breton cakes. I live here, I breathe here, and I truly feel at home.
In January 2010, I founded Celtic Life Limited — a travel company born from my love of exploration. Over the years, I have travelled through many countries, always searching for new experiences, new landscapes, and new flavours.
Cooking is not just a passion for me — it is something I truly love. I never miss an opportunity to try local dishes, especially those that are new and unfamiliar.
This website is my way of sharing the life I have found across the Celtic regions of Europe. It was not something I planned — it grew naturally. I have travelled through Scotland, Wales, Brittany, and Cornwall, and I am gradually bringing these journeys together here.
You will also find my culinary adventures — mostly focused on seafood and fish. I was born and raised on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, where crabs, scallops, seaweed, and prawns were part of everyday life. I also enjoy cooking meat, poultry, vegetarian, and vegan dishes.
For me, food is about both taste and presentation — something to share, and something to enjoy.
One of my long-term dreams is to publish a cookbook, currently titled My Dear Fish.
I hope this space becomes a source of inspiration and discovery. Everything here is written from the heart, shaped by the landscapes around me and the gratitude I feel every day.
Thank you, life.
